1. Sugarloaf – A climb up or cable car ride this mountain, also known as Pão de Açúcar, gives panoramic views of the city and beaches. This is one of the best places to appreciate the stunning beauty that Brazil’s most famous city is known for.
2. Dining on Rua Dias Ferreira - A slew of fine restaurants with beautiful crowds on this street at the edge of Leblon offer options for every type of gastronomic wiz. Try Carlota, Aprazivel, or Sushi Leblon.
3. Rio After Dark - the party is 24-hours a day during Carnaval, but on the average night Rio doesn't disappoint when the lights go down. Have some food and drinks in the late evening before heading to the bars, which don't upon until after 11pm, and then plan on dancing until dawn as most Cariocas do. 4. Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer Statue) - A very cool, art deco Christ, 30m (98 feet) high at 710 meters (2,329 feet) above sea level. Allow about two hours or so for the train ride there amd back. This isn't just a way to see the statue, but to see the entire pamorama of Rio. Now a world wonder.
5. Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches – The stuff of legends. Songs have been song about these beaches and are the main reason most people come to Rio. Talk a walk on the beachside promenade of Avenida Atlantica in Copacabana or admire the 3 kilometers of sand and garotas (girls) that make Ipanema the party place of dreams.
