With sophisticated nightclubs, endless beach parties, and an array of beautiful people, it's a wonder anyone can get some sleep.
It’s well known that Latin America parties hard, but where at. There are so many places and it seems nearly every place stays awake until dawn. Ypu have posh city nightclubs frequentled by models and international stralets. You have local festivals with enough drinking to make the hardest partier fall down. There's beach parties that last until dawn. Fueled by cheap beer and booze, drugs, endless dancing, and sex crazed youth, few continents can match the intensity of South America’s party scene. Beach PartiesRio de Janeiro - Grab a caipirinha and your smallest thong for wild days and nights on Ipanema. Mancora, Peru - Still in its infancy, but still raw and unspoiled, this is Peru’s number beach party scene and a surfer hangout. Montañita, Ecuador - Much like Mancora, but a bit older and more developed with bigger crowds and more bars. In the Andes Cusco, Peru - The hub of South American travel is a party capital with dozens of bars, clubs, and thousands of international visitors that end up staying for weeks or months at a time. Baños, Ecuador - Go white water rafting by day and bar hopping by night. Quito, Ecuador - Mingle with language students and tell travel tales over cheap beer and grimy bars. City ScenesBuenos Aires, Argentina - Beautiful and sophisticated people, this is where to go if you want that old world charm. Lima, Peru - Trendy discos, pisco based cocktails, and beautiful young people populate the Miraflores area, while young and artsy types head to Barranco. São Paolo, Brazil - Loud, brash and hedonistic. Santiago, Chile - Feel the Bohemian charm of Pablo Neruda’s Bellavista district, or the trendy discos and clubs that have sprung up across the city. Bogota, Colombia - The Candelaria district, downtown, and suburbs are salsa hot spots and home to posh nightclubs with trendy youth. Festival TimeCarnaval - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is the epicenter of this holiday filled with sex, drinking, dancing for an entire week around the clock. If you can't make it to Rio try anywhere else in Brasil or Cajamarca, Peru. Any Andean festival - Since Pre-Colombia times festivals in the Andes have been associated with having drinking, something the Catholic church tried hard to faze out but could never do. Semana Santa - Holy/Easter week believe it or is generally a time when you take off work, travel, and let loose. Fiestas Patrias - Any Independence Day celebration in South America tends to be a time to party hard. This goes for every country and every region.
